Athenaeum Wedding | Cal Tech Pasadena

A luxury Athenaeum Wedding | Pasadena, California

This luxury Athenaeum, Pasadena soiree embodies everything a fairytale wedding should be, including an incredibly romantic surprise from the groom to his bride.

Just after the ceremony, surrounded by congratulatory cheers and swirling rose petals, emotions on high, is when the bride first glanced the beautifully adorned horse and carriage waiting to take them away! A magical moment she will never forget.

When looking for the perfect venue Rick and Flora knew they wanted a place with beautiful architecture and privacy. A place where they could get ready before the ceremony and also relax in to the night with their guests. They found exactly what they were looking for at The Athenaeum, a private social club on the California Institute of Technology campus. This gorgeous venue had us from the moment we walked in to the pre planning meeting. As visual artists we’re always looking for settings that will enhance the story but we also consider logistics. Keeping the couple’s experience fun carefree is a priority for us, and this amazing location has it all.

What a night! Rick and Flora’s love for each other was so contagious, that not a person in attendance could deny the joy and happiness that filled the room! Everyone was up and about, dancing the night away!

Black Tie Wedding The Ebell Long Beach Cal

Black Tie Wedding Long Beach Cal

The Ebell of Long Beach is an extraordinary venue and the perfect setting for celebrating Tim and Courtney’s love story.

The open archways and natural daylight spaces are a photographers dream.

The bride’s dress by Pronovias is a personal favorite. The beauty of the lace over the blush colored, luxurious silk slip had me at first sight.

Before the ceremony the couple met in the natural light foyer to share a first look and to greet their sweet pup, Winston.

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful. The floral arbor designed by Bottles and Blooms looked stunning above the mosaic tile floors and the lush greenery set along the aisle.

The couple chose long dark trestle tables for their reception with pale blue and gold accents. Soft hued, luscious blooms and garland, gold sequin runners and hundreds of twinkling candles were displayed down the center of the tables. The head table where the bride and groom dined with the wedding party was framed on either end by tall green trees adorned with hanging baubles of light. The look was magical against the dark wood walls and high vaulted ceiling.

The father of the bride, maid of honor, and best man gave speeches after dinner. Then Courtney and Tim cut the cake before dancing began.

Luxury Destination Wedding Laguna Beach, Surf and Sand Resort

Luxury Destination Wedding Laguna Beach, Surf and Sand Resort

When a 101 of your favorite people travel far and away to celebrate your destination wedding weekend with you!A wedding inspired by the sea and a blush and gold palette.

The Surf and Sand Resort was the perfect place for Jessica and Lee to celebrate their wedding day with their family and friends. Inspired by the sea and a blush and gold palette, the details, accompanied by the spectacular view of the ocean, made for a beautiful oceanside wedding.

Jessica and Lee and the majority of their family and guests traveled from Kansas City for the wedding. But as a young girl, Jessica lived in Newport Beach. Her fond memories of that time inspired her to dream up a Southern California beach wedding. With the help of Ashley and her team at Agape Planning this beautiful wedding became a reality and the end result is magical.

Highlighting the ceremony was a unity tradition and for Jessica and Lee it was a blend of two unique wines. The story began a year earlier in Northern California’s wine country. A romantic getaway for two and where Lee popped the question! While enjoying the wineries, Jessica and Lee had a chance to each make (and title) their own wine. Forward to the wedding day, during the ceremony the couple invited their families to join them at the altar for the first uncorking and blending both wines to make one, as a symbol of two families coming together. It was a great moment, as no one knew for certain what the wines would taste like. Everyone laughed and delighted in the fact that the blended wines actually tasted great!

The wedding cake was absolutely gorgeous and the display design was a personal favorite. The white cake with a pop of pink and green from the fresh roses, set next to vintage black and white wedding portraits that belonged to their grandparents was perfection. The groom was also very close to both of his grandfather’s. He wanted to commemorate them in a meaningful way and decided to wear his maternal grandfather’s wrist watch and his paternal grandfather’s  lovingly worn, tiny bible tucked away in his breast pocket all day.

The reception design was modern and luxurious and featured a showcase white dance floor. But the focal point was the sweetheart table. Draped with a rose gold sequined linen and adorned by large sea glass colored vases and nautical inspired lanterns. But, as if this wasn’t enough beauty, add a wow factor, rustic wood, succulent wall backdrop!

The couple’s grand entrance dance required a dress change! An incredible, sure footed, acrobatic “Dancing with the Stars” kind of moves. That had their guests out of their seats and cheering! So much fun!

During the planning process Jessica asked us about the idea of photographing a day-after wedding session on the beach. Trashing the dress a bit. But after she found her dreamy, blush pink gown by Lazaro she just couldn’t go through with it and after seeing her dress, it was obvious why!

Congratulations, Jessica & Lee!

Serendipity Garden Wedding

Apple orchards, winding roads and small town generosity. Serendipity Gardens is less than an hours drive from the city bustle but a world away

Marnee and Dillon’s wedding tells a charming story of the bride’s Scotch-Irish heritage and the couple’s shared love of homemade pie, dinosaurs, and Star Wars!

Serendipity Gardens is surrounded by charming vintage farms that made the couple’s vintage Pontiac look right at home.

On the edge of a pine forest in a quaint apple orchard, Marnee and Dillon had a private First Look before the ceremony.

The couple exchanged vows on a deck, perched on the hillside with a breathtaking view of the valley. Guests enjoyed cocktails under the shady canopy of trees, adorned with shimmering chandeliers that hung from the tree limbs above. Followed by dinner and dancing under an open tent. Tartan plaid and scotch-Irish details represented the couples family lines. The highlight of the evening was a surprise performance by the couple for their guests. Fans of Star Wars, Marnee and Dillon planned a lightsaber duel that was pulled off with perfection! The skit ends when Darth Vader enters the room threatening the couple. The couple, frozen in fear, drop their weapons and reach out for one another and miraculously, the power of their love brings Darth Vader to his knees. The crowd went absolutely wild with cheers and applause.

Guests enjoyed the music and dancing. Between dancing guests could relax around the open fire pit to gaze the starry night and enjoy s’mores!

The celebration ended with a cheering, sparkler send-off. It was definitely a night to remember!

Hats off to the creative team that helped to bring the couple’s vision to life:
